In a return to MARC Conference competition, the Rowan Men traveled to Temple’s Ambler campus Saturday, September 25th and kicked off their Fall 2021 Campaign. It had been nearly two years since the Profs took the pitch in an official MARC conference 15s match-up, and didn’t waste any time letting the Owls know they were prepared for the moment. Using a dominating scrum, the Prof forwards imposed their will upon their competition and created ample opportunities to run tries across the line. At the end of the first half, Rowan led 31-0. The Profs would continue to keep their foot on the gas in the second half, adding another two unconverted tries. The Owls to their credit would not yield and go away easy, putting in a converted try before the final whistle blew. When it was all said and done, the Profs had officially established themselves as a serious contender for the MARC conference.
Ethan Mabilog, was awarded Man of the Match and led the pack with several aggressive runs with ball in hand. Derrick White won the Road Warrior award, as he wreaked havoc defensively all day, making textbook chop tackles and continuously hitting and securing rucks from side line to side line.
